Jaclyn Lawrence, LMSW

Hi,

I’m Jaclyn Lawrence, LMSW. As a therapist, I’m dedicated to creating a warm, open, space where you feel free to express yourself. My focus is to help you live a more fulfilling life by understanding your self-worth, identifying patterns, and making changes that empower you to live to your fullest potential. I will meet you where you are, and will push you to do the work both inside the office and in the real world so that you get the most out of therapy.

I work with individuals and couples from all backgrounds and stages of life, addressing challenges like anxiety, depression, stress, boundary-setting, and relationship dynamics. I have a very diverse experience working in hospitals, schools, and out-patient programs. My approach often includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which helps reframe thoughts that fuel distress, as well as psychodynamic techniques to explore emotions and deepen self-awareness. As a therapist I feel that our thoughts and feelings contribute to the life choices we make, from everyday choices to big life decisions. What I’ve noticed is when we understand our feelings and reframe our thoughts the intensity of them tends to decrease and we can make better choices for ourselves.

I specialize in working with boundaries and womens’ issues. Often, we do not realize the high expectations we are putting on ourselves and it can be helpful for someone else to point it out and give us a hand so we aren’t doing it alone. I am passionate about working with women in particular, as society puts so much pressure on them to do it all – from parenting, working, and pressures at home. I find it incredibly rewarding to help women set boundaries, understand their feelings, know their worth, and find ways to “be kind to themselves” at a time when society is not.

Outside of the office, I prioritize spending time with my family, friends, and beloved dog which is what helps me stay present in my work and recharge. I am always open to new practices, approaches, and theories that better equip me to serve my clients

I have a strong desire to help each of my clients deepen their understanding of themselves and achieve their goals. Seeing the growth and positive changes people have made throughout my career and being the person who cheered them on, advocated, and supported them to achieve their goals has been such a rewarding experience.

I hope I can be that for you too, so if you’d like to work with me please schedule an intake or a free 15-minute consultation. I am also running a women’s group to address anxiety and boundaries with peer support. If you are interested (click here).

I look forward to working with you!
